about

There is an almost machine-like drive that runs through the entirety of Atomic Symphony No. 6. Something in me wants to call it the Clockwork Symphony because you can feel the hands of time striking through it. The First Movement uses the piano as a heavily percussive element, like a jackhammer pounding away in the opening section.

The Second Movement has a mournful feel to it, even as it keeps a very cool vibe with a heavy bassline and beats. One can dance sadly too.

The Third Movement of the 6th jumps out of the gate with an almost Slavic stateliness – a heavy march-like groove which gives way to some very funky sections that follow.

The Fourth Movement definitely has that clocklike precision working through it, with a steady chime in the background keeping time while the guitar-sounding bass synth pistons its way forward. A very cool industrial sensibility on this one that pushes on to an ecstatic, high-NRG finale.
